as a latina i find the discourse over latinx/latine/latino extremely exhausting and the less white people weighing in on it the better

personally i prefer gender-neutral attempts latinx and latine even if they're not perfect over forcing a male gender over all of us so i would take anyone telling you to use latino instead of latinx with a grain of salt
"don't be performative" then don't be the white person telling other white people what to call us then
leave that to us
