i've thought for the longest time i no longer had the attention span for books. after devouring stone butch blues in only two days i think what happened was university breaking me with the amount of dry reading material, distorting how i see words and paragraphs
maybe what i can't focus enough to read is non-fiction, or at least non-narrative texts. once there is a story to follow, characters to latch onto, the words disappear and become pictures in my mind.
