i want to agree with this so bad but then i remember to all the elder trans women in the toxic irc channel i used to frequent who were going to vote for trump and downplayed my every single experience as a baby trans including telling me my periods were just "gas"

@mavica_again the older trans women in my first trans fb groups were always the most tepid liberals, obsessed with civility.
"you'll never be a girl, you need to learn to be a woman instead" might have had some ulterior meaning to it about emotional growth but it was pushed against me in a really hurtful way every time i so much as referred to myself as "girl"
