a lot of people are angry the inventor(s) of the blue LED got a nobel prize but they deserved it for the technological advancement. blue LEDs pushed a lot of tech forward. it should not be, however, an *indicator*

the process to synthesize crystals necessary for high-power blue LEDs are what allowed things like blu-ray optical drives and white LED lightbulbs to exist. don't kill the blue LED just stop using it as an activity indicator. those were meant to be low power since they were neon
