I can't blame certain admins for going from "fun pleroma instance" to "we need to be strict in order to maintain federation" but: consider that forcing your users to be inauthentic for the sake of Mastodon admins who cancel you in bad faith, is not healthy for your space to grow into itself.
You'll be held to higher and higher standards and still end up blackmailed by those you're trying to please, and you'll lose good users.
Disqordia went through this too, I once tried to be the Good Admin™, keeping up a perfect instance block list, pulling users aside to ask them not to do certain things, and it really didn't make Disq any better or prevent anyone from disliking us because they don't actually care that we block who we're "supposed to" or take the actions they want us to.
Dont fall for it. Just be yourself and let your users be themselves. Even when there's issues. Even when there's arguments.
