Coming from Twitter, I operate under the assumption mods / admins are useless and it's up to me to block / mute as needed to make my experience pleasant.

I thought Mastodon would be different, but Mastodon adds the problem that the mods / admins don't really answer to anyone and can have a vendetta against you personally or just up and ruin your day if they feel like it by shutting down your entire server.
