wtf is going on with peoplemaking.games i'm trying to check the instance status but I can't find any listing about it, like I just dreamed that the whole instance existed or what

@touloutoumou oh no i hope it’s ok. i like that instance a lot. i still see the person running it on here so maybe it’s just maintenance or something? (i don’t know how instances work so that’s an assumption)

@alienmelon I suppose the server is just down but it's been down the whole day so I'm kinda worried it has been completely deleted or something

@alienmelon I'm kinda in panic mode because I was finally building a new audience for the Museum of Screens in here, away from twitter. i don't want to start all over again :(

@touloutoumou i know how you feel :( some of the recent drama between instances lately is really depressing and scary because building something is hard enough already. now i’m looking into it too because a lot of my friends are on that instance. it’s weird i can still see the mod @/esdin in the app here but outside in the browser i can’t. i really hope it’s ok.
the person running it is on twitter too. maybe a good idea to ask? (tho i’m not sure of the etiquette)

@alienmelon I can see the museum of screens profile and the mod profile but only if I access it from this instance. I'm on my computer, I don't know how instances works, it looks like only the website is down but the datas can still be accessed from other instances.

Follow

@touloutoumou @alienmelon when posts are sent between instances each instance that receives them stores a copy of the content, which is how the decentralization works

by seeing the posts from a remote instance, you're not looking at a live view from the source instance, just whatever was sent there, so an instance going offline means the posts survive elsewhere
