moving dropbox's root to a different drive by rsyncing the entire thing and then unmounting the two drives and swapping their mountpoints and restarting the syncing service and hoping i successfully fooled it and i dont have to leave it in a greenhouse for three weeks to see whether it "takes"

mentally, when i imagine "a file" i assume that it's about 1 megabyte. files are usually about a megabyte, right? but i've always assumed that was an inaccurate assumption in reality. so it's interesting to me that i apparently on average i'm correct since have three million files that take up 3 TB
