@fixative_xyz looking for why the hell does a rpi3 take several seconds to redraw a damn screen on lxde. i think bookworm just isn't usable and i need to go back to bullseye.

@mavica_again ahhh that makes sense. yeah bookworm doesn't seem to like older, lower-powered machines... i've got bookworm on 2 of my vps's as well as mx linux 23.x (which uses bookworm as its base) on my thinkpad x201 & as a partition on my 2008 mac pro, & it's super slow on all of them. and those are all on ssds!

the previous mx linux version (21.x) used bullseye, & that worked much better on both my thinkpad & mac pro. i've been putting off downgrading since a bunch of bad things recently happened in meat space & i just haven't found the time or energy to do it...
