getting told that every website having https is "devaluing the worth" of websites having https, like every website has it now so it doesn't mean anything

while also arguing that google "did the right thing" forcing every website to have https (whether they handle sensitive data or not)

which, as someone who disagrees that static websites need https, i have not heard worse technical arguments in a long while

@mavica_again I hate having to maintain a certificate for my website, where I only serve static HTML and any executable downloads I generally delegate as links to other sites like github/itch.

But... at some point there were just too many errors that pop up from various APIs or people expecting only HTTPS.

The biggest dealbreaker was when the HTTPS link to my site was showing some other random site. There seemed to be nothing I could do to stop it except make my own site exist there. :S
