Just spun a Next Cloud instance in my homelab. Holy smokes, that took a bit more effort than I thought lol But it’s fully working and reverse-proxied thru traefik 2, E2E and server-side encrypted :) Now I have a convenient place to store all my nudes /s

I really posted the last sentence as sarcasm, but it seems to be a mapped use case? lol That’s neat and makes a lot of sense! #nextcloud

@tavisco how's it performing for you? i enjoyed the feature set but on the hardware i had it on (a 4th gen i5 laptop turned homeserver) it was unbearably slow (circa 2017 i think, when it was still new) which made me migrate to seafile instead

@mavica_again I didn’t do much with it yet to put it under stress, but the UI, the iOS app and admin interface feels snappy in the Ryzen 7 5700g that powers my server. I’m using the AIO nextcloud docker container.

@mavica_again It has a better cpu even then MINE gaming rig lol My previous server iteration was struggling so bad with an 2nd gen i3 that I simply had enough, and as soon as I got enough money I’ve upgraded the whole thing. Hope it can endure many years without upgrading it again though 😛

@mavica_again And can totally recommend that cpu for this use-case, it takes those workloads like a champ without requiring much power and the integrated GPU transcodes nicely :D

@tavisco i believe you but if money wasn't a factor i wouldn't have a gaming rig that has an older cpu than your server!
