can anyone explain to me why my website shows up in google results with capitalized letters? not a single one of those words anywhere in the http response for that url are capitalized (and there's a spurious comma they added there too), what is triggering google to mangle the contents of my website like this and how do i fix it
@clyde but it's not the image, it's the entire everything! window title and all text should be lowercased
@mavica_again oops I tunnel visioned the image thing ._.
Google's docs suggest using the meta description tags that you did, but then they say that they might ignore them based on some unspecified utility metric 🤦♂️
@clyde Great !
@clyde @mavica_again after looking at the source I was gonna suggest the same thing, with some bullshit AI language parsing on the OCR'd name string, but yeah, actually, there's no uppercase letters in your markup or your images at all. it's baffling and infuriating! I mean, it's your NAME they're mangling!
@mavica_again
I wonder if their AI is doing it.
@Kavus i don't doubt it, but what's triggering it? i found plenty of examples of results that respect the entire result contents being lowercase, my website seems to be the only example of it being fiddled with i can find
i have also found results being automatically translated, misleading into thinking that the page is in a language it actually isn't, i wonder if that could be linked somehow, but then what language are the google bots detecting my page as?
@mavica_again oof, that's gotta be irritating. I can only speculate it has to do with the name text being an image, and instead of just parsing the alt tag they OCRed it
