crazy how nobody has ever made an mp3 player better than the 4th gen monochrome ipod
@mavica_again Those were the GOAT mp3 players for sure. Did one thing, did that one thing extremely well.
I had an original Diamond Rio. It stored I think 32MB, which was only 3-4 songs. Ground breaking, but not useful when your commute was two hours so you'd listen to those 4 songs a dozen times.
My fav. mp3 player (before the iPods) was a Sony discman that could read CDRs of mp3s. 640MB was about 750? 800 minutes of mp3 depending on quality? and you could bring extra disks.
@mavica_again but no, you're right. There hasn't been a more compelling mp3 device after that. Not much pt when your phone - which you already have with you always - can store similar qty of mp3 and also be a phone, and internet device and..
