@mavica_again Those were the GOAT mp3 players for sure. Did one thing, did that one thing extremely well.
I had an original Diamond Rio. It stored I think 32MB, which was only 3-4 songs. Ground breaking, but not useful when your commute was two hours so you'd listen to those 4 songs a dozen times.
My fav. mp3 player (before the iPods) was a Sony discman that could read CDRs of mp3s. 640MB was about 750? 800 minutes of mp3 depending on quality? and you could bring extra disks.
