Some people make a lot of how you can take a beloved Pokémon from an earlier game and have new adventures with it, but it doesn’t really seem to work that way? Because high level traded Pokémon won’t obey you until you have quite a few badges, the benefit of transferring Pokémon seems mostly limited filling out yet another Pokedex entry and maybe breeding fodder. Not very romantic at all.
I kind of want to transfer them to USUM afterwards, so we could have an alolan vacation together. But they wouldn’t obey me, and the whole narrative of the game always treats it like you’re a new trainer, so it would lose a lot of the romance of continuing my travels with Treecko and Meowth.
Eh I was sweating this all day but then when I got home I was happily playing games at the game corner and began challenging Whitney’s gym. Pokemon is good, folks.
TL;DR: "Voting with your wallet" in capitalism doesn't work because those with a bigger wallet get more votes.
And policing the consumption behavior of others is just shouting to people how they should ineffectually vote with their wallets.
A little more: Some peoples' wallets are so restricted that their capitalist "ballots" are also restricted, consumption-wise. Please bear this in mind.
If you want to affect *real* change for the better in this corrupt world, go after the system. Hold corporations accountable for the consumer goods they create, how they do it, and support plans to downsize them and democratize and unionize their workplaces.
Trans girl, mouse, pansexual. I'm a furry disaster. I don't know what else except I like anime, video games, and tokusatsu. I love all Pokemon. [she/her]
