suspend raki.social, it's ran by some techbro who seems intent on datamining the fediverse
so far it's tried to follow everyone with two bots, one clearly marked (@riker) and one unmarked as a "social experiment" (@swift)
the person running the instance isn't clear on their intent with these bots, but they have mused on the fact that you can datamine with federation bots (https://raki.social/@33b5e5/100675134230529744) which seems to me like they want to hide their intent
there is minimal collateral from suspending this instance -- only 22 users with 103 statuses, most of the interaction has been said datamining bots
@arielmt Oof, power-hungry disks D: Well, using a straight mechanical adapter with a PATA card would hopefully mitigate the limits a USB-based one would have

@arielmt If worst comes to worst, a PATA expansion card and 3.5" to 2.5" PATA adapter might allow you to test the HDD externally? Kind of a tall order to get those so circumstantially though...
I'd offer the ones I had around but I think I recycled them when I moved. Plus it'd be hard to get a computer with a PCI slot these days. Hum.
