I CAN FINALLY TALK ABOUT SECRET PROJECT!

My dear friend and colleague, Jamie Garner, and I are now OFFICIALLY under contract to write and publish a scholarly book on the rhetoric and cultural retransmission of transgender comics, particularly webcomics! Yes, this is an outgrowth of "Can I Offer You An Egg In These Trying Times," and I'm delighted and excited to get to work writing a whole book on why the Queerantine flood of trans comics was something really special.

@DPSsys SQL isn't as fun unless you're doing at least two joins in a query /jk

Just watched a YT videos by CJ The X and damn it's amazing, these videos are just so much but also so good at the same time, in a way I can't describe, it's a performance, it's almost a bit of stand up comedy while also philosophical

I recommend starting with the following videos of theirs.

"Top 10 Types of Water"

"7 Deadly Art Sins"

Different surface patterns on the tower. On each level, the tower will have a different pattern.

I wonder how I can eliminate the visual banding in the texture mapping.

exciting programming problem in touchHLE: supporting inheritance for instance variables. look at how gnarly this is:

https://github.com/hikari-no-yume/touchHLE/commit/ae5b7a8d6513e3204d3c2eab1f250cdcf8930ee5

i have an idea for a neater solution, but it will involve descending further into the land of Anys and 'statics and 'as and dyns :3

THE BAD NEWS: i have ran head-first into the borrow checker struggling with mutable borrows in loops again ;_;
THE GOOD NEWS: unsafe { &mut *(a as *mut _) } is my friend and would never hurt me :3

Finally my blog generator is spitting out a blog index and posts, all that's left is writing up a post, do some final polishing and publishing it.

Out of context random YT comment:

As an IT engineer I am pretty worried by the increasing reliance on software and apps for the most basic of functions like payments. The complexity of something should be inversely proportional to its criticality

I agree

me: Maybe we should get a pizza stone.
Alex: 'Pizza stone' sounds like something fake.
me: ...
Alex: Like...was it forged by elves? To bring the ways of pizza to the Men of Númenor at the end of the First Age?

If you are a woman
and you find yourself surrounded
by amazing women
chances are
you're amazing, too

@TechConnectify People in my line of work love "reinventing wheels", no matter how many times we tell ourselves for doing so.

Here's a relevant blogpost: baldurbjarnason.com/2023/debat

And, to reiterate my thoughts, I think plug-and-charge is neat. I even kinda-sorta use it with EVgo.

But good gravy nobody would care about it if card payments just /worked/ like they do /literally everywhere but car chargers for some inexplicable reason/
