I dunno why there are so many OLED/LCD modules for the pi pico that use a nice header that cleanly fits over all the pins

Would you prefer a job where:

a) Work meetings are never recorded and AI notetakers are never used, but you have to take notes manually occasionally.

b) Or a job where meetings are regularly recorded and are using AI notetakers, but you never have to take notes.

At least at the University of California, for disabled people at UC (whether students, staff, or faculty), there used to be human notetakers for those who had that access need. It was a good work/study job for abled students to be a notetaker.

But since disabled people are always seen as a risk and cost "to be managed", the moment that abled decisionmakers could fob it off to Otter .ai, they did. This compromised privacy of disabled people. But people didn't care when it was mostly happening to disabled people...

Of course, as soon as the tech was available to have these AI notetakers in online meetings, abled folks began to notice.

The cruel irony is that AI corps love using "accessibility" as cover for their work. But if abled decisionmakers cared about accessibility, everything would already be accessible as possible. It's not about accessibility.

My 81-year-old mom, who's a widow and has no current photo ID was rejected today when we tried to get her a photo ID card. She's been living in Alberta since 1978 and has no current passport.

She had her birth certificate but because she changed her last name when she got married in 1964, they could not issue her an ID card without her marriage certificate.

We did not know where she may have stashed her marriage certificate since she moved into a senior's residence three years ago and had to downsize a lot of her things.

These new rules are going to disenfranchise a lot of people hoping to vote in the referendum. We need to get the word out. If you are contacting another province for birth or marriage certificates, that will take time.

Luckily for my mom, after searching through an old trunk with multiple albums and brown envelopes, we found the original marriage certificate. We'll be back at the registry in a couple of weeks to try and get that ID card.

This UCP government is pure evil.
