I've made a short blog post outlining the basic techniques of executable emoji, which I have dubbed emojissembly.

I started working on a general COM2EMOJI utility that I might post at some point, but let's face it the chances of me being distracted by some shiny thing in the next 48 hours is quite high.

On the one hand this is procrastination, but on the other hand I've been procrastinating on writing these scripts for something like 12 years, so IDK.

The "hg touch" helper script is something I keep writing at various employers but then not getting able to take home because I wrote them at work. "hi" meanwhile was created to make "ht" work across SCMs, and I expect `hi -i`/`hi -g` to be things I use all the time-- both git and hg are weirdly baroque about "just give me the current changeset".

Okay well I didn't do the merge housekeeping I needed to, but instead I wrote some command line helper scripts I'd been meaning to, which in the spirit of a gist I here share:

`hi` tells you what version control system the current directory uses (as long as it's hg or git) and prints some basic orienting information. `ht` touches a file, mkdir-p-ing intermediate directories along the way, and adding to the current scm afterward.
