Since it seems #Google has decided to uni-laterally force through their new anti-#adblock #DRM euphemistically named "Web environment integrity", I decided to add a little bit of code to my website that blanks out the page and displays a protest message with a link to the firefox download page when you visit it from a browser with this DRM feature. Here's the source inside one toot, feel free to copy and put it at the end of your website's <body> before the closing tag:

@hikari For some reason I thought you were talking about a computer keyboard and I was scratching my head as to why it had a 6.35 mm audio output
Someone should make a computer keyboard with a 6.35 mm audio output 🤔
Absolutely brainwormed by this article on how we’re rapidly ending up (or have already ended up) in post-capitalist feudalism and it just makes so much sense I’m surprised I wasn’t thinking of things this way: https://pluralistic.net/2023/07/24/rent-to-pwn/
I guess it makes a difference when someone gives something a name
I recently finished watching Sarah Zedig's video about Tunic and it's a really good watch
I held off on watching the whole video for a long time until I had played the game, but if you have not played the game watch the first spoiler free section
"The Legend of TUNIC: Obscurity, Nostalgia, and Copyright [CC]" - let's talk about stuff.

Turns out that Web Environment Integrity proposal everybody is getting angry about (imo very legitimately) was effectively already shipped by Apple in Safari last year: https://httptoolkit.com/blog/apple-private-access-tokens-attestation/
That means if Chromium ships it too, we could quickly move to 90%+ of browser traffic being attested. Not good!
I don't know who needs to hear this but it's perfectly okay for "nb" to mean both "non-Black" and "nonbinary", and it's perfectly okay for "poly" to mean both "Polynesian" and "polyamory". While many things ARE indeed driven by racist colonizer logic, abbreviations are just … not? "Words getting shortened" is a universal linguistic process, it happens all the fucking time, and it's okay for different communities & dialects & registers to mean different things by words.
Trans woman, bisexual, someone's fiancée, forever a programmer, poly, and former total mess
