With every recent tech bro hype there’s always this emphasis on how you’ll be “left behind” if you don’t invest in their ideas. And each time I’m thinking “YES, please leave me the fuck behind!”. It's easy to make fun of people under 25 for making thrifting and gardening/farming and foraging into pop trends, but to paraphrase my niece:
"older clothes fit better, feel nicer, look cooler, are cheaper, and cost less.
"You can alter them, you can decorate them, you can get clout for finding extremely cool shit
"My friends and I don't understand why anyone would buy new clothes. Fast fashion is destroying the world, and everything it makes sucks."
