#Germany just passed a new law, called #SBGG, that grants #trans, #inter and #nonbinary people the right to change their official name and gender without much bureaucracy. It takes in effect at Nov 1.
What they need to do is request it as some office, wait 3 months, then request again and it's official.
This will replace an old law that in the past forced trans people to divorce or even undergo operation in some cases, just so they can change name + gender marker. This was ruled unenforcable a few years ago. And to this day, trans people have/had to get the approval of bureaucrats who claim to be psychological experts (they often aren't) in a long, demeaning and expensive (thausands of euros) procedure, where they ask EXTREMELY intrusive personal questions.
On Nov 1, it will be nuked forever.
“I must not work on weekends. Working on weekends is the mind-killer. Working on weekends is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face the JIRA tasks that arrive on weekends. I will permit them to pass over me and through me. And when they have gone past I will turn the inner eye to see their path. Where the work-need has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
i swear, you could solve public transit in the US if you just got:
- the software people who truly love the field
- to talk to the municipal politics people who are actually doing it for the love of the job
- to talk to the train planning people who are actually doing it for the love of the job and or hobby
- to talk to the physical security and penetration testing people
- to talk to the mining engineers
- so they can then plan and pull off a complicated heist to rob the treasury
