they don't tell you this, but in big cities, sometimes the moody walk through the sunset in the uncaring city has diegetic background music

I think I remember Dolly Parton talking about why she kept all her publishing rights and saying something like ...
I was in my 20s and I didn't know much at all about the music business but by then I had learned a thing or two about men and I realized I needed to be in charge of anything a certain kind of man told me "don't worry your pretty little head about that" and that has served me well over the years

Finally got around to reading about Private Cloud Compute and let’s just say I’m not super impressed

oh, to be made of an abstract elastic material that can stretch, bend, and pass through itself, but which cannot be ripped or punctured without destroying me, and which cannot be creased, or bent sharply

a few months ago Rory Milne interviewed me about touchHLE for Retro Gamer magazine, and he was kind enough to send me a copy! it brings great joy to see this in print.

if these snippets pique your interest, please consider buying the issue! i'm just one of a few who were interviewed

I do not identify as nonbinary. That's just what I am.

I identify as an unstoppable force.

How many professional programmers are working on pointless and/or actively harmful products?

Once you've seen one indoor shopping center

This was an accidental art, as someone asked for water pointers while I was streaming and like, I don't do background stuff but I remembered this water tutorial and I tried explaining how I've done it, then I just, kept drawing until this happened lmao.

I hate the internet.

Trying to look up safe exposure limits for various wavelengths of near-UV light and 90% of the results are AI-generated garbage with top of the page statements like "UV light in the 400-550nm range is especially dangerous" like BRUH... 400 is visible spectrum. 550 is YELLOW. or shit suggesting staring directly into 405nm lasers is a-ok.

You cannot trust ANY information on the internet anymore. It's not just all lies--it's all *dangerous* lies.

you’re a fossbro if your main problem with the Torment Nexus is that people should be using OpenTorment or LibreNexus instead

(trying to explain telephony to an ornithologist) so back in the days of in-band signalling the telephone was essentially a cloaca

Lol Neil Gaiman says

"ChatGPT doesn't give you information. It gives you information-shaped sentences."

This is one of the better ones I have seen.

I think I'm becoming utterly disillusioned on tech stuff lately. I'm hugely aware of the "you like stuff you grew up with" and "you have less patience for stuff as you age" biases, but even so...

Streaming is shit.
Searching is shit.
Researching is shit.
Shopping is shit.
Troubleshooting is shit.
My phone is shit. Autocorrect, touchscreen keyboards, Bluetooth, AI, Android Auto, Spotify, all shit.

It's not even capitalism or consumerism, I'm just tired of arguing and fighting with things I own.
