I get indication from KDE Connect that Facebook Messenger on Web is constantly playing a ten second long audio or video clip. There is never anything actually playing in the foreground, so I'm wondering why Facebook do this. To prevent tab hibernation? Some sort of fingerprinting?

i know it's been a while but i remain utterly baffled by the (not particularly even that high) popularity of coding LLMs.

when i have to solve a coding problem, i just think about it and then type some code. this has worked very well for me my entire career before chatbots were even a thing. i get a good result from doing this because unlike a chatbot, i'm actually quite good at programming.

why do we want to give that up again?

Sometimes when I have to enter my passkey, instead of the screen I watch my fingers and it always seems wild to me that I hit all at a rate of like 250 / minute, pretty much in the sequence I mean to, all the time. Somehow I can get the ordering pretty much right. Watching myself type it seems so weird I could've learned to do my keystrokes in the right order nearly all the time.
