Serious question to people born on 1970-01-01: Did you ever encounter weird IT related issues due to your dob?

Sharing encouraged, because I'm genuinely curious

project 2025

you cannot overestimate the sheer amount of carcinogenic hatred that is distilled into project 2025.

as a document it is flatly terrifying.

as a set of goals it's a heinous amalgam of bigoted christo-fascistic eugenicist nonsense meant solely to further empower the people already holding more power than anyone rightfully should over others.

and it was written by people.

not gods or devils. people.

it not only can be stopped, it must be stopped.

do you know what mon in monday refers to?

tfw, you're working on a creative project and trying a lot of things and nothing is quite working so it feels like you're getting nowhere but you are actually making progress on figuring out what you want, you just have nothing to show for it yet

I just realized a good argument against computer ads.

Contrary to regular ads, it is actually using your resources (your power, time on the CPU you bought, etc)

So, shouldn't ad companies paying you money for displaying their ads? Like they pay billboard owners or news paper owners, etc.

So until then, using ad block is just preventing theft.

the furry fandom's best trait?

we're unapologetically ourselves.

to all other fandoms, I say this:

reject capitalism.

embrace cringe.

become unmarketable. :anarchism:

The 736263 passcode seems to allow setting the device name.

9999 is more scary and seems to set a lot of the BMS parameters. I'm not sure if these are sanity checked by the BMS but I don't think it would be hard to put the BMS into an unsafe state with this control.

Does someone want to write up a CVE? I seem to have stumbled upon an attack against a car battery, and it's really stupid.

There will always be a specter looming over mastodon in the form of an unanswered question: What is social media for? Or put better, What do we want social media to be?

If it's just a place to scream into the nether, then it really doesn't matter who's listening to you.

If it's more than that, if it's a place for communities to collaborate and communicate; and I vibe with this more, then we will need to build it to be that sort of place.
