Today is the 50th anniversary of women gaining the right to have mortgages, business loans and credit cards in their own names.

I am 47 years old. My mom did not have access to her own credit card. People like to think that this stuff happened in the ancient past. It didn't. People you know were directly affected by anti-women systemic oppression.

Dario recently forced me to create an account to continue using a blood sugar monitor I already own (😡), so of course I gave my name as "Fuck Off."

This turns out to have been an amazing decision, because they inject your name into their marketing emails. 😂

I hope this e-mail… doesn’t find you.

I hope you escaped the corporate life.

I hope you bought that hectare of land.

I hope your crops are thriving.

I hope your crafts bring joy.

I hope you found peace between the deep blue sea and high blue sky.

I hope at night a million stars blanket your slumber, and every dawn reveals new wonders.

I hope.

Alaska's education commissioner drafted a proposal banning students from using cellphones at school, citing multiple studies linking cellphone distractions to poor academic achievement. The state Board of Education voted to approve the ban.

Just one problem: most of the studies cited in the policy don't exist; they were hallucinated by bullshit-generator machines ("AI"). This crap is now guiding public policy!

For fuck’s sake. My customer got some kind of a “Keep up to date with status changes!” popup in Jira, and the only visible action button automatically enrolled us in a Confluence trial. Good thing I got a “Welcome to your trial, you will automatically be upgraded to a paid account in one month” email so I can cancel it before those chucklefucks charge us.

"Oxfam’s research found that the world’s fifty richest billionaires produce on average more carbon emissions in under three hours than the average British person does in their entire lifetime. On average, they take 184 private jet flights in a single year, spending 425 hours in the air. This produced as much carbon as the average person in the world would in 300 years.""
