went back on birdsite after clicking a link to it.
had a look at the home timeline.
blocked a bunch of transphobic arseholes who were sending abusive replies to LGBT+ people
closed the browser window.
four minutes.
you know what, sometimes the grass really is greener on the other side. sure there are instances which allow bigoted hate, but my instance doesn't, so I'm going to enjoy it over here.

@renbymon to some extent, same. I think you started using birdsite about the same time I did - does Masto feel like early twitter to you too, in the days when it was mostly nerds geeking out?
I wonder if it played into other things, had to deal with a conflict on another site the other day and I feel like I might have handled it better than I might have otherwise.

@renbymon fair, it was a long time ago, it could just be rose tinted specs! haha either way, I like this present at least as much as my rose-tinted hypothetical past, but there's no use living in the past!
