Realistically I don't think I want to do Cfz or SC.
It was nice to see new people but if I can't get a room in the moxy or main, there's no point.

For Scotia, it's more tempting, but meh. Not a huge fan of the venue. The panel rooms are tiny and far too warm. I didn't get up to much.

Feel like I'd much rather go on a holiday in Europe to be honest. It's nice to see friends but I am rubbish at arranging things

Furcation, maybe?
And Pawesome of course

Both hopefully a lot cheaper than cfz/SC

@tryst @Saki I'd recommend it too, if you like camping, hanging out with unashamedly geeky and cool people, and having AC power and high-speed internet at your beck and call.

@philpem @tryst it definitely interests me a lot more than a furcon right now.

I haven't gone camping for near 8 years though, and I have no supplies for it. Could maybe nab a tent from my parents. Hmm

@Saki @tryst I'll gently point you towards my friend Tryst for tent suggestions - but there are some relatively inexpensive ones. You don't want to skimp, a leaky tent will ruin your weekend.
After that, a good ground sheet and sleeping bag. I've got an ex-Army one from the 1990s which is absurdly good.

@philpem @Saki Eurohike Tamar is a great small tent. The important thing is that a separate fly sheet. Tents without those are designed for dry weather only, and if the rain doesn't get in, they fill up with condensation and get your stuff wet anyway. Having said all that, I probably have enough stuff for you to borrow.

@tryst @philpem hmm. It's very tempting. I'd love to give it a go at least once.

I was looking into getting myself a tent so I can go camping outside of EMF sometime, so it was already on the mind.

@Saki @tryst @philpem am also kinda tempted by EMF next year. So tenting recommendations are welcome

@Jencen @Saki @tryst @philpem You can probably find tents cheaper in other places but Go Outfoors does help with being able to look at the tents all set up. I really find it hard to sleep in a cramped tent so it helps me a lot!
