@avon_deer Just like the last time the Tories tried to scapegoat them and it cost the taxpayer $700m in damages?

@avon_deer Honestly right now what I'm more concerned about, and this is seemingly going unreported, is how Fujitsu engineers wearing branded clothing are having abuse hurled at them in the street.

@renbymon The people most directly responsible for this are far more likely to be waring Saville Row suits than branded workwear.

In this case and virtually all such cases of it's like in my lifetime I'd say.

@renbymon

With my devil's advocate hat on, the Horizon system was released with SO many glaring faults that I do think this company have at least a few questions to answer here.

But at the same time the fact that the UK as a whole is a near-feudal society that permits the likes of Post Office to corruptly bring their own court cases without a jury, without legal advice for the accused and with the judge in their back pocket is hardly the fault of a Japanese company commissioned to produce their software.

That is entirely on the UK and the attitude it has to it's people. Or perhaps I should correctly say "subjects."

@avon_deer Agreed that the private prosecutions is really the main issue at hand here. I'm just really angry that the media and gov pointing the finger at Fujitsu is just scapegoating again.

@renbymon They will do. They will try to claw back as much as the compensation as they can. This is just standard procedure. They are /all/ ne'er-do-wells, whatever colour rosette they wear.
