Every time someone says we 'just need to debate fascists and people with extreme views' and I find myself maybe thinking that's true, I just remind myself: their beliefs include genocide, mass murder. Almost every human society in history has decided that's wrong. How could this ideology be right?
The answer of course is, it can't.

@philpem As a general rule, debating with extremists never works out well for anyone. You're not going to change their mind, and it's unlikely that there's a compromise position that would be acceptable to anyone with a conscience. All you're doing is giving them a platform to spread their hate.
