I am a long term critic of Amazon destroying the High Street. But honestly the High Street also does itself no favours either. From having nothing in stock to high parking charges. Add to this the likes of Currys upselling extended warranties with /everything./

@avon_deer Not to fully defend Amazon I do remember when the new market opened in Wakefield and all the old market stalls were priced out of it because it cost three to four times as much to rent a stall, then shop rental started increasing.
IMO The high street was dying before Amazon started taking a foothold, because landlords always want More Money.
