to me the smartphone will never be a primary computing device. it is a clumsy little rock in your pocket that you can thumb out messages on, read the news and check the socials.

long live the proper computer, with their proper keyboards, proper clipboards, proper multitasking and proper programmability. the proper computer is where things are made. the pocket rock is for dicking around on at bus stops

@mallardgryph I only really use my phone for on-the-go comms and media consumption, that's it. Everything else I do on an actual computer.

@renbymon @mallardgryph Personally, even for media consumption it's not that great. I have a nice mpv setup at my PC and I'm yet to find a smartphone video player that gets even close.

Smartphones are just overall a bad experience for tinkerers.

@vifon @mallardgryph Sorry, I mean for like listening to music or podcasts when I'm on the bus, that sort of consumption. ^^
When I'm at home I watch most media at my PC.
