Just noticed there's bees coming and going from a crack in the stonework on one of my raised planters.
And now I've ended up learning about mason bees.
I'll probably wait until September/October when they start to die off, make sure the wall is stable, and leave some cracks for the bees.

I mean, it beats them building a nest in the house.

@philpem Oh yeah if they're not in the way hugely it is best to just leave them to do their thing and get rid of the nest later in the year. We had a similar thing in our tool shed last year. :)

@renbymon I'm not even sure I'll get rid of the nest, I'm all for a new colony reusing the nest next year.
I'm just not going to rebuild the brick fence pillar until they're gone. :)
