@shirosirius Aside from the moral issues I think the main business affecting one is that artworks created by "AI" are not copyrightable under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act as it would not have been created by a human.

Gonna echo something @cargo said, but in my usual much-more-needlessly-verbose way.

Artists: you DO NOT have to mutilate your announcements into ungodly eldritch horrors here to avoid getting deboosted. You can say "I'm open for commissions!" You can say "Check out my Patreon!" You can say "Anyone want to check out my YCH adopts?" You can say all of that. You don't have to bowdlerize those words or come up with weird alternate letters. There's no algorithm to bury you. You can post your art examples. Add links right to your sale pages.

I'm so glad you've made it here to the Fediverse, artists! Enjoy it here. YOU ARE FREE NOW.

Alright so, I know most of us in the fandom are seeing a lot of people push for BlueSky over Mastodon but there's one big thing to remember.

#BlueSky is not open, you cannot see posts publicly.

So, what does this mean? It means organizations and #furry #conventions can't use it for sending out updates to all, so it's not immediately viable for them.

You want to get more in the fandom using Mastodon? Follow the furry conventions and organizations set up on here that have already set up accounts and show them you want to use this platform, most cons have an account on furrycon.social, otherwise we could see a siphon once BlueSky opens up from lack of use and support on here. (Boosting this would also be nice)

Got an appointment to see my GP in a couple of weeks re gender affirming care! 💜

will the real X please stand up, please stand up, please stand up

The little things are really good.

Came into work today and coworker is back in the office, after a fortnight off, and he asks me if everything went okay coming out as trans to my manager.

Really glad that my coworkers are supportive!

Someone should come up with a way to take static information stored in flat files and serve them over the internet to client software that interprets the markup language in the text to render the information as a page on the screen. There could even be a special tag for text that directs the client to another page when the user clicks on it. It would be far better than using chat clients to store documentation. I'm surprised nobody has thought of it yet.

Friendly reminder: you can follow hashtags and get the content you want directly in your feed!
Friendly reminder 2: you can block or mute someone producing content you don't like and never have to see their content regardless of tags you follow!
CURATE YOUR EXPERIENCE. MASTO GETS BETTER WHEN YOU PUT IN THE WORK

"mastodon is bad, the people there are bad"

Every social media site, no matter who runs it, is going to be absolute dogshit if you don't curate your feed. If they breathe too loud? Hit the blocks.

I do to Mastodon what I do to Twitter, and it's pretty good.

@calcifer_dragon@mastodon.social due to the way masto works it doesn't matter, the only advantage of being on a dedicated furry one is that you appear in the "local" server feed. My advice is to choose one that feels right to you.

There's a list of furry ones you, and you can migrate to them without too much hassle. furryfediverse.org/

I'm really bad at picking up the signs that people make towards me, but looking back I can see that there were some who knew that I'm trans back when I was in my late teens/early 20s.

I knew I was trans back then but I kept telling myself bad things and that led to some really self-destructive things.

Glad that today I can say that I'm happy with who I am and I know that I'm a girl. 💜🏳️‍⚧️
