I'm going to be fixing this Pioneer CLD-1750 in a few weeks (my next spare time slot). Fault is it doesn't read discs. Laser moves, focuses, moves in, focuses again, then gives up. No spindle movement. Anyone have any ideas? I'm hoping it's not laser failure - but it glows red on camera.
I've tried cleaning the laser lens.

With Alice's current inquest, it felt apt to share this image once more 🏳️‍⚧️

Alice was a shining bright light who unfortunately took her life back in 2022. After 1023 days on the NHS waiting list, it became too much. The current inquest into her death puts the NHS' care under review.

1023 is too long, and something needs to be done. May she rest in peace
