@ShugoWah@snouts.online TBH I keep thinking about making my own instance, with renamon and......renamon, because I kinda like the idea of it

@ShugoWah@snouts.online I love my instance but heck I want a renamon emoji to use, haha

@ShugoWah@snouts.online Is that emoji on your side or are you able to submit your own to your instance?

anyone else want to come be a furry in the streets with me

Honest to God if one person mentions @diogenes in my presence today I'm going to lose it. First he eats in my fucking lectures, then he fucking plucks a live fucking chicken. Do NOT enter my school again fucker. My definition of man was fine before you had to go fuck it up.

@June@kitty.town
@mxsiege@octodon.social Growing up in the 80s and 90s in the UK we had a lot of stuff like this on TV too, and most of it practical effects. It was a beautiful era.

Please see these BBC2 idents from the 90s, most are practical effects and IMO beautifully minimal

I'm feeling in a very kissy/cuddly mood right now so I'm imagining myself sat in one of those carnival booths with a sign that says "Kiss/Hug a Renamon - $0" because I want to share my goodfeels! 💛 💜 🖤

@Thaminga It's almost criminal really. Commodore UK had made a deal with a chinese chip maker that was looking to stop bootlegging and go legit, the chip maker would promise half the bid and Commodore UK would make them the exclusive chip maker for the Amiga line; win-win for both parties.

Escom found out and offered the chip maker a better deal to not go with C-UK, so C-UK's bid fell through. After winning Escom just tore up the deal with the chip maker.

@Thaminga Personally I think it would. Had Commodore UK won the bid to buy Commodore International I suspect that the landscape might be quite different.

Commodore UK had big plans for the Amiga line; resurrecting the AA chipset and developing new ones, newer models, etc. Escom just sat on it and did nothing.

@Thaminga It's a travesty IMO. The Amiga had so much potential but capitalism got in the way of it time and time again. Its success was entirely down to people who worked to make it success, like all the engineers, Tom Rattigan, and David Pleasance.
