what operating system (or linux distro) do you use on a regular basis?

Thoughts about furries and the internet

I've been noticing over the years people mentioning feeling like interactions on the internet aren't real... That their internet persona is an instragrammable cardboard cutout that is profoundly alienating.

And here I am pretending to be a dragon on the internet and feeling the least alienated and most authentic I've ever felt because I am not having to pretend to be anyone or anything I don't want to be.

Look, you know that polished version of yourself you present online is bullshit. Everyone knows it is bullshit. You know everyone knows that it is bullshit...

So why bother with plausibility? Go wild! Have fun! Be a dragon! Be an eldritch horror with a form that cannot be comprehended by human minds. Whatever takes your fancy. Because what you're doing right now is just making you sad.

The last commission from December that I spontaneously decided to take towards the end of the month: a bird person, being dramatic!

I made a few versions of this picture, mostly because I wasn't sure about the background colours. also a corrupted version!

@kevin I just saw that when looking for photos of the computer book!

Me: What kind of accoutrements would a linux witch have?
My brain: A laptop with some Linux distro, of course. Like a grimoire/spellbook!
Me: So like some sort of computer book?
My brain: Holy shit remember that Penny from Inspector Gadget had a computer book and you were fucking obsessed with it for a time?
Me: *core memory unlocked*

Felt like drawing Xenia the Linux Fox. Oh, and poking a little fun at Linux.

@zauberin Mostly! Unfortunately I can't fully rid myself of it for my job, and I still have a gaming desktop that runs 10 (until it hits EOL and then I'm switching to either Debian or Gentoo), but all my other devices have been defenestrated! :3

"Hey Rith, what's your job in the Korpsverse?"

Sorcerous procurement. Sometimes stuff for Korps missions, but usually very specifically designed magical TF triggers for agent downtime. Temporary ones.

I have a contract expert on staff for people who want permanent ones.

"What about Mel?"

🟪Freelance demolitions. Very freelance.

A customer just called me an "Computer Wizard" after helping him with his laptop and I wish I'd had the courage to say "I'm more of a Computer Witch!" ^^

a witch isnt a white lady homeopath that can realign your spine and cure your asthma, a witch is a queer gothy genderfuck who works night shifts at a hospital and still somehow finds time to sit down and lend you an ear when you need it, can totally give you a weird fucky homemade ointment and some homegrown weed to go with it grown out of the fucked together remains of her hydroponic experimentation interest fixation

That’s why I don’t believe that AI will save anyone any labor. It may very well make you more productive, but you will see zero benefit from that. All that additional productivity and output will be strip mined away

And since AI will make it possible for any person to do any job, it will make you perfectly replaceable

There is no such thing as a labor saving device, because capitalism devours efficiency
