Heeeeeeck yeah. The Raspberry Pi Pico-W transplant into the #BlueSCSI was a success. Loading web sites is pretty dang slow, but it tops out at like 60Kb/sec, not much faster than a 56K modem, not that those existed when this #Macintosh IIci was contemporary. I think the disk driver in the image I used is super slow. I remember seeing a warning in the log file. So going to fiddle with it in the near future, but for now just so glad this is working. Such a neat machine.

There she is...

She's perfect... She always was...

Sewing day - A saga

- Ahh yes the old sewing machine, trusty device to save my hands from pain.

- Sewing machine why do you not feed the fabric??? Please be a team player!! I have a deadline!

- Ahh a trip to the shops in rush-hour traffic~

- Sewing machine, meet your new brother!

@kevin Not in the two days I have to finish this whilst also having ADHD. Maybe for V2!

Unlike my fursuit head the Dark Knight helmet isn’t coming on as well; pits of filler that I wasn’t able to get rid of and with the time crunch I’ve had to just bite the bullet and go with what I’ve got now.

Putting on the primer now and then the main colour goes on tomorrow.

Starlink is killing Hubble

Something about this plan to move Hubble, didn't make sense. If the telescope still has 10 years of useful life, why the need for SpaceX to boost it's orbit now?

Well it turns out the main thing threatening the utility of Hubble is... wait for it... SpaceX Starlink satellites, which orbit just above Hubble constantly "photo-bombing" the images. Within a few years there will be so many Starlinks that Hubble will be useless.

@tryst Your brain is lying to you; none of those things are true.

I look up to and value you. 💜

trauma, bullying, anxiety

On my way home from work on Thursday I found myself giving a group of loud people a wide berth.

They weren't doing anything wrong, they were just enjoying themselves, but I felt so anxious being near them at all and I felt like I was back in school with a group of bullies coming towards me.

It dawned on me that I was reliving the trauma of my childhood. I know that the likelyhood of anything happening now is slim but it was hard to keep my cool.

Came across this recently, and reminded of it just now when I had to remind myself I can just say 'sorry for the delay getting to this' without adding 'I had lots of meetings/was swamped/etc'. #trauma #ptsd
