If you're Trans or part of another harassed minority, I'd suggest it might be time to depart the hellsite once and for all. Mastodon is a welcoming place. Musk is removing the block function. This is *very* dangerous if you are undergoing harassment or at risk of it (ie doxing by terfs etc). Please let other folks from vunerable communities know about this. While I myself are in no real danger (cis/hetro/white/male and no real enemies), I think I'll start wrapping up my affairs there. This has gone too far.

The worst AI scraper that doesn't even identify itself as such is still this user agent:

It's not even listed on darkvisitors(.)com
I see 5120 requests in the last 24 hrs alone, all for JPEG & WEBP files. I don't want to know how much bandwidth & energy it consumes, globally.
Easy to block via Cloudflare or .htaccess: Firefox/72 is ages old and no human visitor would use it.
Spread the word.

Software liability comes to the EU.
The new EU liability law extends the definition of “defective products” to include software, holding manufacturers accountable for harm caused by software vulnerabilities.
If a software flaw leads to damage, manufacturers can now be held liable, emphasizing the importance of security throughout the product lifecycle. This change encourages companies to prioritize cybersecurity measures and regular updates to protect consumers, shifting some risk from users to software providers.
The law also allows easier access to evidence in legal claims, balancing the power dynamics between consumers and manufacturers.
There is a carve out for open source software. Importers and the EU representatives of foreign software can be held liable too.
