Rant, Microsoft Windows support
This happens in my workplace too, trying to troubleshoot software faults is too obtuse for anyone other than the software devs to do so if the standard fixes don't work then next option is to give the user a fresh install of Windows. This ultimately does not fix the fault but kicks it down the road for a few months.
Rant, Microsoft Windows support
The thing I hate about supporting Windows is that MS really doesn't make it easy to troubleshoot faults.
Someone asked for help on MS answers for Windows seeming to hang at the Welcome screen. The support response was to 1)perform startup repair 2) roll back to a previous restore point 3) boot repair 4) Windows repair
None of these things worked but this is the sort of support I see daily; throw everything at the wall and see what sticks.

US EPA Enforcement & Compliance conducted 3 onsite inspections of Apple's fab facility in 8/2023 + 1/2024. US EPA noted at least *19* potential violations of the RCRA hazardous waste statute.
I just posted US EPA's report for public access. Dropbox link: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/312oqvretg7yyhfx0ohx4/AGZduVXs0_1geqIyi0NA9nE?rlkey=3aa2tw15ek3trqlbdh7pw9erh&st=e7pg1cpp&dl=0
The US EPA inspector noticed Apple had a 55-gallon container of corrosive liquid chemicals sitting in Apple's "Chemical Bunker," & the container's cap was removed
EPA said: hey Apple, why is that haz waste container left open?
Apple responded: its open so the vapors can vent, you know, so it doesn't explode
EPA said: you need to buy containers designed for these types of chemicals
🧵 In 2020, I nearly died from mysterious industrial chemical exposure at my apartment. Later, in 2023, I discovered my employer was dumping toxic waste into the apartment windows from their Skunkworks semiconductor fab next-door. I tipped off the US EPA, who sent their env cops to raid Apple's plant in Aug of 2023. The US EPA finally released the report of their enforcement inspections & sent me a copy on Friday. 💀 ⬇️

"uh huh", i say as i watch teams freeze and the entire windows audio driver crash and disappear because i joined a meeting and it failed to switch my headset to hands free mode, forcing me to reboot my computer and wait several minutes until everything opened back up
Facing some financial troubles at the mo, so looking to re-home a couple of old OCs if folks are interested?
Leopard gecko's only got the one piece of art, the Primarina has two icons and two full-body pieces. Hit me up if interested!
Original artists are https://www.furaffinity.net/user/cupcakecreature for the Prim and https://skullracket.carrd.co/ for the gecko!
The worst kind of tech hype is when something is portrayed as inevitable and unstoppable, with criticism or doubt blithely dismissed as "they don't get it".
Just because a giant tech company pours vast amounts of money down a toilet, that doesn't mean the toilet is going to start spewing gold coins into the air.
