For those interested, Tiggi.es IRC (Internet Relay Chat) is up and running with services, fully encrypted, hosted locally (Not on AWS or the corporate cloud), not run or sponsored by any big company, with zero server-side logging and data collection.

Address is irc.tiggi.es port 6697 or 9999 - You need an IRC Client to connect.

It's old fashioned, but works really well. We've got IRC services for registering your nick, registering a channel/audio ops, sending memos, etc. Check out the MOTD for more info should you decide to give it a try. :)

Every time I see fedi meta drama involving some admins or mods, and people blaming the fediverse itself for this, I can't help but think

"I feel you, I'm sorry you're in this mess, I hate this shit too-- but on a non-federated site like literally everything else, you would have no choice but leave the place entirely. Arguably this isn't a fedi problem, fedi actually handles this better than anything else would"

Though I wouldn't say that to anyone because I don't want to invalidate it
