@Kandrel yesterday mentioned a story about a werewolf matriarch and I haven't stopped thinking about that. Life goal to be matriarch to a pack of werewolves 💜🌕🐺
It is shocking to me how modern technology has replaced more basic devices, without actually being as capable than the things it replaces. I had just assumed that most people still owned a radio, but the Spanish power outage today has revealed that they don't! I'm extremely surprised by this.
Broadcast media is simple and resilient. If you don't own a radio, and an antenna for your TV, you should consider fixing that.
swordplay huh?
can you dual wield in fencing? would you want to?
i dont zhink zhey care, as long as its cool

Mastodon isn't perfect.
But the fact a social network exists that is completely free to use,
has no venture capital investors,
has no shareholders to answer to,
has no growth targets,
with a web interface with zero cookies,
and mobile apps with zero trackers at all
with ten thousand server administrators who donate their time for user safety
is - in my opinion - mindbogglingly cool, given the state of the world we live in.
Not everything has to be shit. People make things better.
I've just released !EliteNet, my first #RISCOS application in 30 years.
It allows #Archimedes #Elite to transmit to an #Econet multiplayer scoreboard (see Yoda’s score in the second screenshot, for example).
I’ve loved every minute of this little side project!
Here's the repo: https://github.com/markmoxon/elite-over-econet-acorn-archimedes
If you want to see this in action, we’ll be playing multiplayer Elite at the National Museum of Computing’s LAN Party on 7-8 June.
You can find more information about the party here, including ticket details: https://www.tnmoc.org/events/econet-lan-party-2025-1b
See you there!
Suddenly on a bit of a trance (mainly Psy and Goa) kick and one track in my playlist, Never Never Land by Anima, has a spoken work portion which ends in "The Milkybars are on me!" and that got me thinking, is that advertising slogan even a thing anymore?
Like it was a thing when I was a kid, and had been since the 60s, and I guess I just assumed that they'd never stop using it because of it's cultural status, lol
