Ahh yes very nice to have bought a rather expensive inflatable camping mat only for it to deflate multiple times overnight.

Going to return/exchange it on Monday but it sucks in the mean time as I'm reduced to sleeping on an old self inflating mat. At least it keeps me warm despite how uncomfortable it is.

Honestly I've got two life goals:

1) Be girl
2) Be Dark Knight

Both are in progress and I'm so happy <3<3

Was making dinner earlier and suddenly my brain goes "Hey rememer the Dark Knight POV shots? Think about how it would be for you to see like that and also have some dopamine at the same time" and gosh wow that was an incredible experience. It was so euphoric!! 🖤

“We created a self-opening fridge with an AI camera that tracks what you put in and take out.”

Please for the love of any and all deities I am PROSTRATE on the floor begging you for fair energy prices and accessible public transport I do not need a fridge incorrectly guessing what is in my 17 Tupperware containers and refusing to open because I haven’t paid my monthly £24.99 subscription of “Fridge Door Lock Plus” :neofox_melt_sob: :neofox_melt_sob: :neofox_melt_sob:

I've got a new and fun 90s computing inspired datawave single out today on Bandcamp (and everywhere else)!

It's also Bandcamp Friday so the artists (like me!) get all the proceeds from each sale!

British trains rant, swearing

I am so fucking looking forward to the end of CrossCountry's rail contract as they have done the bare minimum since they started. Today, not even at rush hour, the service to Penzance is so PACKED that train staff weren't able to get to an elderly passenger to help her off and people who have reserved seats can't get to them because people are having to stand everywhere.

Okay, that's … what the fuck? That's amazing!

We tend, I think, to imagine that the days of simple scientifc 'miracles' – Newton and his prism, Fleming and penicillin – are at an end. Anything really useful will take years of work and a mountain of kit to make happen.

Nope. Take tartrazine, the food colouring used in Doritos, and paint it onto your skin. Shine a red light on it. Your skin is transparent!

How many medical applications does that have?!

Instead of

sudo nano /etc/whatever

try running

sudo -e /etc/whatever

This will make a copy of the file to be edited by your normal editor, unprivileged, and when you exit the editor, the original file's contents will be replaced.

The cool thing about this is that you're inside your familiar environment, with your editor's config and all.

The disadvantages are that you have to _exit_ the editor to apply the changes, and you can't load other files.

I'm in an email chain with a bunch of dx/wsjtx dev/ncdxf people and attitude i keep on seeing is that only certain people/groups are allowed to do dxpeditions or only certain people should be "approving/verifying" dxpeds.

Stop trying to make twitter verified for amateur radio you muppets.

I'm desperately seeking information about this chip.

It is a custom #Psion RS232 IC used in the Series 3c, codenamed CONDOR.

If you were involved in the development of the 3c or knew someone who worked for Psion around 1994-1997 who might have been involved, please let me know.

We want to emulate this chip in #MAME so that it can be added to the existing Psion SIBO hardware #emulation.

Every hashtag on every post on every platform should ALWAYS be camel case. I made this to illustrate how screenreaders read hashtags depending on whether they are lowercase or camel case.

It’s a small thing that all of us can do to build a more inclusive, accessible internet for all. Please take the time to use camel case.

Interesting. According to Brent Spiner (the actor who plays the android Data in Star Trek: The Next Generation)

1) it was Patrick Stewart's UK pronunciation of his character's name (day-tah instead of the US's dah-tah) that made this pronunciation canon, and

2) the character of Data and the popularity of Star Trek has led to "day-tah" now being the common pronunciation in the US, too.

quick sketch for tonight.

Trying to be more proactive with my drawing by having a set time after work to draw and post a WIP or a finished piece.

This piece might get a clean up if enough people ask, but for now my goal is to grow my audience.
That being said, this means I rearranged my day to day schedule to focus on my future career.
