I've updated my blog post about VTubing on Linux to mention SnekStudio as the primary software and VSeeFace as an option, because:

  • SnekStudio runs natively on Linux, contrary to every other software
  • It just works better and uses less resources

It also now has a honorary mention to other guides for VTubing on Linux, because I found out about them only yesterday!

Show thread

I went into CEX and bought some very cheap DVDs of shows I like (Bottom and Spaced)

@avie this is entirely your fault 💛💜

Rockstar, the games company, has sacked staff from its Edinburgh offices for seeking union recognition to negotiate better terms & conditions of employment.

Once again, workers' right to act collectively is seen as illegitimate by employers. The firm of course itself is the result of collective action among investors!

Class war is alive & well in the games industry, and the Scottish Greens are right to be supporting these workers!

Modding Eurobeat into Need For Speed Underground 2 was the best decision in made this evening.

One of the first werewolf movies that I watched as a teen was "Project Metalbeast"

It's a pretty schlocky scifi werewolf movie, but it does have the distinction of being the first werewolf that I crushed super hard on!

Recently some high quality photos of that werewolf suit emerged and now that I look at them there's definitely some femme coding in the design, especially in that the pecs kinda look like tits, which has been a bit of a "core memory unlocked" journey for me!

Friends (Motte and Tulpi)

2025

I made a painting of Motte and Tulpi, main characters of Lost Scent, based on the painting Friends by John Emms

Motte and Tulpi are from Lost Scent by Lynn O. & Gin O

password manager PSA (keepassxc)

if you use keepassxc, do not update past the current latest update (2.7.10) as future updates will include LLM generated code, which is a utterly horrible idea for an application that manages people's passwords

the maintainers approve of this and don't see the horrible security implications in allowing it

Wonderful piece of art by @Foxxhoria of myself (werewolf, ofc) holding a Commodore Amiga 500.

It came with the "Screen Gems" pack, which means that I got it for Christmas 1990, and it also came with the "Astra Pack" of games, as did a lot of other bundles sold my local shops out of the pages of Amiga Format (I think First Choice Computers in Leeds)

I had that A500 for over a decade and sold it when I needed some money. Worst decision I ever made. ^^;

Thankfully I do own another one now <3

Foxes can scream because they paid extra for the built-in fox-modem option. Wolves don't appreciate it because they can't decode it.

spoke too soon.

anyone got any alternatives to KeepassXC that'll import the same database file type?
