@mattcropp yeah i get where you come from, i just have a visceral aversion against getting explained stuff i already know.

i intentionally avoid increasing my chances to be found by people who are too far away from my bubble because that also increases the bullshit ratio of replies, which is already too high for my nerves. (no, yours doesn't count as BS)

i can already see the objections. "but all the important works of literature have been written by white men!!! white men get more fiction awards and sell more books than anyone else!!!!"

men are pathetic

Show thread

@Jsuttonmorse yeah. i mean for me it's obvs not about their race or gender, it's about their unchecked privilege and the internalised bullshit that they never thought to question. ive never read anything by a wcg that didn't make me want to puke on every other page

oh god some guy just tried to splain systemic discrimination to me. discrimination against white guys!!!! don't limit your reading choices by the author's race or gender!!!! just read what's good!!!!!

hate to break it to you mate but

white men's literature sucks

on twitter i have such a well filtered bubble. i don't get this kind of shit in this concentration over there. it's like 2012 all over again

Show thread

honestly, white cis men telling me that not wanting to read white cis men is bad pretty much explains the whole problem i have with white cis men. they're privileged assholes.

if you stop acting so goddamn entitled, maybe i'll consider looking at your works but until then: get off your high horse, check your privilege, fuck off

Show thread

wow, so many people telling me that not wanting to read white cis men is bad

@albino no, because white cis men are the most privileged group on this planet and, as a direct result of this, they are also the group with the biggest asshole ratio on this planet. systemic oppresion & systemic privilege are not symmetric & we are not living in a vacuum.

food

@gohomekiki yes, it's awful. also i dont' only react to foods, but to laundry detergent, cleaning agents, anything that's scented, fucking TOOTHPASTE, and lots of other stuff. sometimes my neighbours accidentally poison me by causing smels to drift through the staircase and then i die

@mattcropp wow, i would have never thought of that, i've only spent 8 years on twitter, i clearly don't know anything about hashtags

@Elizafox have you been diagnosed with a learning disability or intellectual disability? because if not, idi*t is really not yours to reclaim & you're being ableist.

food

@gohomekiki and the symptoms are such that some degree of starvation is a lot more preferable. like, i get muscle weakness to the point i can't physically stand, i get vertigo that gives me severe motion sickness, random muscles go spastic, i get tingles and chills, arrhytmia, intense fatigue that's as good as passing out, and extreme pain through all of my body. so. i'd much rather go hungry

food

@gohomekiki i'm pretty sure I have MCAS. so. outside of mast cell stabilizers and possibly steroids the only way to deal with that is avoid things that make my immune system go postal, which unfortunately includes almost every food.

my symptoms are not only IBS, if it's only my GI tract that complains that's good, gets the food moved to the "dangrous" list but not the "poison" list. the things on the poison list are those that leave me bed bound.

@Tablesaw star trek as a whole is so infuriating /o\ the science is extremely bad and the whole human society is so bare and culturally dead, and the whole universe was invented by a guy who shamelessly and enthusiastically reproduced & promoted rape culture, sooooo.... no star trek books for me >.>

food

@gohomekiki noooooope. i have my 1st appointment at the allergy clinic in august. not going to go anywhere else before i have my diagnosis because i have 0 intentions of having people tell me i'm making shit up AGAIN
