@nicole xd felt like the best compromise of all in terms of being future-proof and maintainable
@nicole yeah we wanted all the cool things in jul but it is a very closed community thing that's only good if you're in on the joke, also it's a complete mess.
we'll probably end up implementing our own fun stuff from scratch eventually but right now we're trying to strip it down of all the mario stuff and giving it a new branding, along with critical bug fixes such as removing the sex field in the database entirely
@squirrel good luck! it's very interesting to me to see people "outside the bubble" use acmlmboard
@nicole it's a really cool software and i'm sad the bubble is impenetrable so that's why we're making our own
it's coming along really well! it's an opportunity for both agiri and i to work on our PHP and since she's already worked with PHP a lot in the past development is going really smoothly
@squirrel that's reasonable; I wouldn't do anything with the Jul branch these days and the 2.5/Kafuka branch I'm told has a lot of rough edges still
