noob illustrator question:

when i want to make things to print repeated on larger media (a j-card to put on an a4 sheet, 2 per sheet)

do i make my artboard the a4 size and make guides for the j-card or do i make an artboard the side of the j-card and i can assemble them onto a sheet later?

@troubleMoney right but you'd think making the artboard the thing that's going to be repeated will be easier so i don't have to make everything twice yeah?

and also if i want to move to A3 instead it'll be easier to just reformat to that?

@squirrel That should work for you

Set up one j-card with all the guides, do the art, then make an artboard of the size you're printing on and copy/paste to fit

The super pro way of doing it involves using symbols and other dark magicks IIRC but I can't remember how to do any of that
