If you had access to a bunch of free computers of varying age (386 - Pentium 4), at what point would you draw the line for what could be made useful today?

Assume these computers have no internal storage, how would you approach this?

(If your answer is "don't bother" or similar, kindly show yourself the goddamn door I'm sick of having that conversation.)

@ajroach42 i know a few people who do regular day to day tasks on high-end pentium IIIs to this day (or at least, until a couple of years ago)

honestly anything that can run a modern linux can get pretty useful given enough ram (just so you don't swap to HDD so often)

@squirrel that's been my experience as well, aside from the web browser.
