abnt2 does á é without doing ś ḿ exactly the way i want it to but abnt2 is a different layout than us and this keyboard is us so i won't be able to type some punctuation

windows back in the 90s used to be able to use an US keyboard exactly the way i want it to be so idk why linux in the 2017 dropped that and it irritates me a lot

@InspectorCaracal i just found "alternative international" but it works exactly the same way

@squirrel Well that page was bullshit then.

I'm finding someone referencing US International (AltGr with dead keys) which apparently requires you to hold the right alt key when you do ' in order for it to combine, but I don't know if that's better or worse than having to hit space after ' in order to use it as a character. 🤔

I'm also not seeing anyone mention the ability to customize which combinations work, which is a significant oversight imo.
