I put it back together and it's somewhat working again but it's flickering a lot (enough to make it uncomfortable to look at)
I think it's just working again bc it was unplugged for a few minutes :/
@tom probably would be worth it replacing the through-hole electrolytic caps and the IC below them (looks like it could be a power regulator?)
@tom cap failure isn't always visible, they might be dried up inside, it's not uncommon
