hey if you're running an ebooks bot using https://github.com/Lana-chan/mastodon-ebooks.py a couple of days ago i improved the reply function to try and find words you say to it in the replies (giving a generic sentence reply if it can't find one), akin to the behavior of IRC chatbots of yore
@squirrel oooh I might switch to yours instead of the ananas version (I can run ananas, or at least it seemed to run, but it stops working whenever I close the shell and it's very slow so I don't know what it's doing)
@InspectorCaracal yeah ananas still needs Some Work but since i can't even run the non-pip version cloned from github (it looks for itself as a package and fails) i can't contribute to it yet

@squirrel yeah no I agree I'm just saying that's probably why mine at least runs xD
@InspectorCaracal oh yeah the pip package works, sure
it's broken but it works because some errors are being suppressed, too
@squirrel hey I just cloned your thing to use it but where do I put the api client stuff
